5 Ways to stop Allergies
Allergies are hypersensitive immune responses to substances that enter in the body, such as pet dander, pollen or bee venom. It causes an allergic reaction is called an “allergen”. Allergens can be found in food, drinks and the environment. Most allergens are harmless that is the majority of people are not affected by them.
If you are allergic to a substance, such as immune system reacts to it as if it were a pathogen (a foreign harmful substance), and tries to destroy it. Some ways are as given below:
Try Some Steam
Inhaling steam is a way to relieve nasal congestion and can ease breathing when you have allergies. Sit over a hot bowl and place a towel over your head for steam trays. You can sit in the bathroom with a hot shower running. Use steam several times a day to relieve symptoms.
Stop the Sneezing
Sneezing may be irritating, but it is actually a protective mechanism that helps expel allergens and irritants out of your body. Allergies, smoke, mold, dust, wood dust, pollen and other such irritants are the most common causes of sneezing. Cold weather, humidity, rain water, strong smells, food allergies, certain drugs and other such factors also can cause sneezing.
Wear a mask
A mask can stop allergens from getting into your airways when you cannot avoid certain allergy triggers, like when you are mowing, raking, or vacuuming. An N95 respirator mask is available at most drugstores and medical supply stores will block 95% of small particles and other allergens.
Eat a Healthy Diet
The children ate a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, and nuts grapes, apples and oranges had fewer allergy symptoms. Researchers are still trying to find out the relation between diet and nasal allergies, but eating a healthy diet is called to do the body a world of good. Try adding at least one fresh fruit and vegetable to every meal.
Avoid Cigarette Smoke
Cigarette smoke can aggravate your allergy symptoms, magnify your running, itchy, stuffy nose and watery eyes. If you smoke quit, and in your household to stop smoking, too. Try to avoid places where people smoke opting for smoke free restaurants, nightclub. Avoid other fumes that can worsen symptoms, like aerosol sprays and smoke from wood-burning fireplaces.
